This is the same experiment that we performed 26 years ago. Of course, the product packaging has changed a bit, but it turned out exactly the same!

    Making Gordon's Christmas Pizelles

After my dad's best friend, Gordon, died we weren't sure what was going to happen to Gordon's Christmas Pizelle tradition. Each year, Gordon would make a whopping batch of Christmas Pizelles and give at least a dozen to all his friends and family. Last year, my father took up his tradition to make sure that everyone received their special Christmas Pizelles!

Every year at the Coconut Classic tournament, Fur Fun elects a Dream Team of Flyballers. This year, I'm proud to say my very own husband was elected the 2009 Dream Team Box Loader. He truly is a Box Master Extraordinaire (BMX).

Congratulations to ALL the Dream Team winners!

    Magnolia's bike ride

After 2 years, we're finally getting the Dalmatian back on the bicycle. You can see that she's a big nervous about the thing that she's running next to and is pulling a bit. She'll get the hang of it no time. (We hope!)

  • What can go wrong in flyball

What can go wrong in flyball

Unfortunately, not everything always runs smoothly in flyball. Dogs will be dogs, and we can expect them to make mistakes!

When a dog makes a mistake in flyball it is called a fault or a flag. In order to clear the flag, the dog must successfully rerun after the last dog has finished. If multiple flags are called, the dogs must rerun in the order that the flags are called.

In this video you will see several common mistakes.

    1) Porter (Australian Cattle Dog) goes wide on the return and misses the jumps coming back to her handler.

    2) Magnolia (Dalmatian) drops the ball on the line when returning because

    3) Maddie (Cock-a-poo) has a bad pass -- which means that she crossed the start finish line going out to the box before Magnolia crossed the start/finish line returning from the box.

    4) Sienna (Australian Shepherd) may also have had a bad pass -- difficult to discern.

    5) Porter (Australian Cattle Dog) misses the jumps going out on her rerun.

    6) Maddie (Cock-a-poo) attempts to rerun to clear the fault for her bad pass, but goes out of turn.

The race is called a no finish.

Beltway Bandit - Rush Hour (Feb 2009)

More flyball video. This only shows three of the four dogs competing on this team.

Porter (Australian Cattle Dog), Magnolia (Dalmatian), and Maddie (Cock-a-poo), Sienna (Australian Shepherd) is not show in this video.

Rush Hour was rostered in the multibreed division for this tournament, which means that all the dogs that comprise the team must be different breeds.

The Rush Hour multibreed team took 3rd place in the Region 9 in 2008.
